Update January 2004:
NEW PHOTOS ADDED
Check out the "behind the scenes" video captures on the photo page. They are a little fuzzy since they came from my high-8 camera, but still cool. The videos were actually shot with three chip video cameras against a green screen so that we can add all sorts of cool backgrounds. There is even a shot of me jamming out under the watchful eyes of one of the beautiful (and armed) Spectre investigator babes (part of the story line of the videos). Aliens, Babes and Shredding. Who could ask for more?
VIDEO SHOOT A WRAP!
After 15 intense hours of shooting I am happy to say that all of the live band footage for the "Dreamland" and "Master Plan" videos has been completed. It was great to jam out to the songs with the Spectre guys and amazing to witness all of us burning through those unison lines. I think all the new Spectre fans out there will really enjoy it! Keep checking "Spectre World" for the upcoming videos.
VIDEO CLIP
For those who would like to see some footage of me playing there is a video clip along with a brief interview on the SPECTRE WORLD website http://www.spectreusa.com . This footage will be broken up and used throughout the upcoming documentary "Beyond Dreamland." Just use the link and then go to the "Movie" page and click "Bonus Clips." Enjoy!

Happy New Year Everyone! To all those who have posted compliments on the Spectre message board - THANK YOU very much! It's great to see so many people from around the world getting into the music and digging the new site.
"DREAMLAND" VIDEO SHOOT
2004 is starting out with a bang! Next weekend we are shooting the live band sequences for 2 music videos from the "Dreamland" cd. They are going to be for "Dreamland" and "Master Plan." I just started relearning all of those songs and they are not easy! Every time I do a new cd I say "I'm going to make the guitar parts easier to play this time" but never works and I end up with sicker runs than ever before! I've already seen the SFX cut aways for "Dreamland" and they are unbelievable, alien abductions and more! When completed these videos will be available at the new "SPECTRE WORLD" website: http://www.spectreusa.com Stop by and check it out - you won't be disappointed.
Update October 2003:
Just wanted to let everyone know that the new "SPECTRE WORLD" website: http://www.spectreusa.com is 70% live and it is an amazing feast for the senses! It consists of breathtaking animated graphics and theme music. Check out the "Music page" to hear songs off the forthcoming "Dreamland" cd and make sure to leave a message on the new Spectre message board. This "high-speed" site requires a dsl or cable connection. We are working on a 56k friendly site in the future.
On a sad note, the great Shawn Lane passed away last month at the age of 40. His guitar playing and compositions were beyond comparison - a true "legend in his own time." The world has suffered a great loss with his passing - but at least we have his music to remember him by. To learn more about him click the link on my "Main" page.
Thank you and God Bless you Shawn!

07-04-03 HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYBODY!!!
YES, I am ALIVE! In case you have not noticed the site has been off-line for quite a while. But now it is back and I have big plans for it. I know, I know, I said this before, but this time I actually SPENT MONEY to have the site served by a cool hosting company! And I have 300 Megs of space to fill up! I will be updating the main page adding all sorts of new stuff that hopefully someone out there will dig. If you happen to find yourself here and have a few (creative) suggestions, I would love to hear them.
The last 7 months have been the most exhausting of my life as I have been renovating a house that I purchased back in January. Unfortunately, I have spent the better part of the time with a hammer or paintbrush in my hands as opposed to a guitar, but there finally is a little light at the end of the tunnel. At least I will finally have room for my own studio!
I did however manage to get my chops together to perform a short shrederiffic solo on the forthcoming Spectre dvd RETURN TO DREAMLAND, which chronicles the history of the band and the making of the DREAMLAND cd. Mixing of the cd was delayed due to a computer crash, but is now back under way!
I hope you all have a safe and fun holiday weekend!
~Todd
Update November 2002:
I just got the keys to my site and will be making regular updates. I added some new pics to the Photo Page . A while back it dawned on me that the majority of the photos on the site don't even look like me anymore. (I'm about 20 lbs lighter with a foot less hair!) Watch for some new media updates including some mpeg clips and online guitar lessons.
"CD Update"
"Dreamland" is still in the mixdown process. Be on the lookout for a redesigned Spectre website in the coming weeks with new mp3's, photos, and more! "Thank you" to all the people that have e-mailed me regarding the old sample of "Forever" on the Spectre site. All I can say is "Wait till you hear the rest of the disc!" The band and I really appreciate your compliments and enthusiasm!
Update May 2002:
"Where did I go?"
After an unexpected disappearance into the virtual-void, ToddRoseonline.com is back up and running on a new server. I apologize for the absence. I've added a "News" page to keep fans and friends updated as to my musical whereabouts. Watch for new media updates in the coming months, including mpegs and samples from my latest project with the band "Spectre."
"New Band-New Disc"
I just recently completed recording all the guitar tracks for "Dreamland," the debut cd for the CT based Symphonic-Progressive powerhouse "Spectre." This recording contains by far the most over the top guitar playing of my life and is a fusion of a variety of styles and musical concepts that I have been focusing on over the last three years. I'm really proud of the way it sounds and for the first time feel as though my playing has been accurately captured on cd. The disc is produced by Brian "The Weapon" Smith who's prodigious drum prowess made him a first call NY session player by the time he was only in his late teens! It has been nothing but a pleasure working with him in the studio and it has given me a different perspective on how guitars and drums can work together. In a nutshell, there are a lot of doubled guitar and drum fills and rolls! This gives the music a real solid foundation that at times, twists and turns like a sonic roller coaster!
I will keep you updated as the album progresses. For more information on "Spectre," and for sound samples, you can check out their website at http://www.spectreusa.com.
"Reviews"
I just received a wonderful review of my guitar playing on the "Sacred Oath" album "A Crystal Vision" released on Sentinel Steel records in "Metal Maniacs" magazine March 2002. A big "Thank you" goes out to Matt Johnson for his kind words.
